Notes: On 4th lap of the Marciana Marina G.P., last round of the 1987 European Offshore Championship Class-II, held in the boat course in the offing of the Isle of Elba on Sunday, 20 September 1987, while approaching a signal where the competitors had to turn around, at the Capo Dite nearly the isle of Palmaiola, 2,5 kms east of the Elba, the catamaran driven by Di Luca-Giocchi, racing at the moment in 6th place, violently hit a spectator's rubber boat in the middle of the boat course. Six people were on board of the rubber boat, one of them Mrs. Gabriella Tasselli, 45 year-old from Pistoia, Italy, was killed upon impact, another person, Mario Bianchetti was seriously injured.
Several spectator's private boats were assembled around the Palmaiola isle, because the racers had to pass in the fixed course through the reef, some spectators turned out not to be well-behaved. 22 Class-I powerboats and 8 Class-II started the race: the winners were Gigi Radice-Villa Ferraris-Carlo Nicolini with the offshore "Polli".
