Notes:
French rally co-driver Catherine Delmotte died in an accident during the Rallye du Touquet VHC (Véhicule Historique de Compétition), around 17h00 on Saturday, 09 October 2004.
She co-drove to Marc Decanter in the Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 which left the road after slipping on a wet stretch of the road in a undergrowth and crashed on the left side into a tree, during a special stage between the villages of Montcavrel and Clenleu, department of Pas-de-Calais in northern France. Catherine Delmotte died on the spot, Decanter suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital.
The special stage was immediately stopped in consequence of the accident and the remainder of the day's stages were canceled, but the rally resumed on Sunday for the last two special stages. Catherine Delmotte was the second female co-driver to die during a rally in France, within five weeks. On 03 September 2004, Anne Gal lost her life during the Rallye Mont-Blanc.
Her memory was perpetuated by the "Catherine Delmotte Challenge Cup" for co-drivers, which was awarded during the following editions of the Rallye du Touquet VHC.
