Notes:
Hugh Randall was an Big Car rookie. He had failed to qualify for the race at Langhorne in Pennsylvania on 01 July 1962, but was selected as a relief driver for veteran Elmer George, entering the race on the 58th lap. Randall was on his second lap when the Vargo Special flipped on a rut at "Puke Hollow". Randall's harness failed and he flopped around the cockpit as the car rolled over several times. He was pulled from the car but was dead on arrival at Lower Bucks Hospital in Bristol, PA.

He was survived by his wife, Louise, and his parents, Marcus and Mary Randall.

Hugh Randall is buried at Rest Haven Memorial Cemetery, Section 3, lot 586, space 13, in Louisville, Kentucky.
