Notes: The second edition of the Straßenrennen Schwanenstadt, held on Sunday, 20 September 1970, was marred by a number of accidents that resulted in the deaths of two men.
The event was held on the 3.251-kilometer street course, which was inaugurated in 1969, in the small town of Oberndorf bei Schwanenstadt, district of Vöcklabruck in Oberösterreich, Austria. It was a round of the 1970 Austrian Motorcycle Championship.
Two riders were killed in two separate accidents during the different class races of the meeting. First occurred the accident which claimed the life of the Austrian Roland Frenzl, 26, in early morning.
Another rider, Hans Jürgen Walentich also from Austria was killed in the afternoon of that same day.
