Notes:
Raffaele Alberti and Guido Leoni, both riding 125 cm3 FB Mondial motorcycles, lost their lives in an accident that involved several riders during the Circuito di Ferrara held in a street course at Ferrara on 06 May 1951.

Rider Antonio Ronchei hit the straw bales beside the track in a fast left bend, fell down and remained in the middle of the road, causing a multiple pile-up. Other riders fell down, Carlo Ubbiali managed to avoid the machines that caught fire and Primo Zanzani escaped unhurt from the fire, while Raffaele Alberti and Guido Leoni crashing into the wreckage were both killed upon impact.

The expert racer Raffaele Alberti and his team mate Guido Leoni raced for team FB Mondial owned by Count Giuseppe Boselli. They were well known riders at the time in Italy and Europe, Leoni had already won his first World Motorcycle Championship race, the 125 cm3 class in the 1951 Spanish Grand Prix held at the Montjuïc Park, just one month before his fatal crash. Guido Leoni had also won the Circuito delle Terme di Caracalla in 1948 and the gruelling Milano-Taranto road race in 1950.

They are not to be mistaken with Luigi Alberti and Gianni Leoni, that passed away that same year in accidents respectively in Monza and at the Ulster Tourist Trophy at Clady. They were not related.
