Notes: Finnish rider Onni Kyrö died as a consequence of an accident which happened during the Eilenriede Rennen held in Hannover on 11 April 1937. During the race for 350 cm3 motorcycles his NSU - probably after experiencing a brake failure - rode at about 130 km/h into the straw bales before the Zielkurve, the bend before Steuerndieb. Kyrö's motorcycle lost its rear wheel in the crash. He had been in fourth position during the first part of the race.
Winners of the 1937 Eilenriede Rennen were Walfried Winkler on a DKW in the 250 cm3 class; Heiner Fleischmann on a NSU in the 350 cm3 class; Karl Gall on a BMW in the 500 cm3 class; Karl Braun-Ernst Badsching on a DKW in the sidecar class.
The event was marred by a number of accidents. During practice for the sidecar race, pilot Josef Lohner lost his life.
